Unless you're into "wallplaying", seeing SL as something separate from everything else, the keyword is integration. Even the simple fact that I can't mail someone inworld from my mobile makes me wonder about those "corp integration" intentions people talk about. I know there are a lot of formats, and several of them closed standards. But the regular business slash work slash non-cybering user do not care about it. Why use SL if I can't give you my ppt?
