Come Help Break This

Nortel just won a big government communications deal, which is good… because with bankruptcy looming over the company, we were a little concerned about the future of web.alive. Still, it looks like it could be developed into a viable option for a few projects and remains on our radar.

Meanwhile, the good folks over at Mellanium would like you to come break it.

Nortel’s web.alive 3D virtual client offers the capability to have over 500 concurrent avatars not only interacting and chatting in an office complex environment but delivering presentations and filesharing among each other. BUT… can it really deliver with 500 people in the room?

MellaniuM is hosting a stress test on Friday, November 27th at 12 pm NOON (EST) (That’s 5pm GMT, 9am PST.) To get there, just click here: http://ec3v3.projectchainsaw.com/

Yes I know, who makes plans that far ahead? But it’s for a good cause: to break something. Come on, everybody likes breaking stuff.

  1. David Orban Says:

I will put it on my calendar. It is a pity that only Windows computers are supported. Surely Nortel realizes that Mac users are represented out of proportion in those who through blogs, or other media, create buzz, and shape opinions. And also the Mac is increasing in adoption in the enterprise too.

Anyway, see you on the 27th!

    David
