Back From The Stomach Flu

Wow, that one knocked me on my ass. Thank goodness.

I don’t want to say that I was enjoying a vicious stomach flu that made me feel like I needed to spend over 72 hours in the bathroom. That part was no fun. Having a massive headache through it all and being really sore wasn’t cool either. Fevers suck. There was, however, an up-side…

I’ve been pushing way too hard. Just going through my Twitter feed (which represents maybe a tenth of what I do in a day) I can see where I started doing just a bit too much work and not allowing for rest. I was writing some really good stuff, but every time I did it meant I had to try that much harder to top it. I began to trim a few minutes of sleep in the evenings to double-check a few things, and get up a little earlier to type up one or two little things. All day it was go-go-go as I tried to do a dozen things at once.

I was burning out… and the timing was bad because things are totally coming together over at Metaversed and I’m in communication with CNN for this big thingamajig coming in August. What a terrible time to crash and burn… it was only a matter of time before I decided to pick on one of those attention-whore critics who really deserve the constant lack of attention they’re already getting… bad scene…

Thank goodness for illness. My head really needed this.

Just before my body crashed, though, I had the pleasure to go to a full tour of the Brian Eno exhibit “77 Million Paintings”. Here’s a great Flickr stream by Annie Ok. Want to see something funny?

Here’s a pic I took of Xantherus Halberd standing in front of the one exhibit, wing in silhouette:

Same moment, but this time shot by Annie Ok - whose focus was a little different:

I wouldn’t have put my av in the shot. I didn’t, actually. She did. (We barely know each other, btw.) That makes me feel… you know… nice.

Look, kids, when you’re down and nobody’s around to tell you it’s worth it to keep sluggin’ away, you take encouragement where you can find it.

……. um….

More coherent blog posts coming up, I promise! We’ll dive into griefers and everything!

[...] Here I have a bunch of artwork. The tree changes color when you touch it, and you might remember those panels from Brian Eno’s big display… [...]
