Recipe for Success with Enterprise Virtual Worlds

There’s a constant demand for case studies and surveys regarding the return on investment in virtual world enterprises. This just makes sense really: why put your money where there’s no track record of success?

The demand for proofs in this sector is a little higher than usual, however, as people still continue to have a gut reaction against anything that looks like a video game. Employees should be working, after all, not playing. (It’s a horrible philosophy but there it is. Imagine productivity if more companies tried to turn work into play. But I digress.)

Now, Clever Zebra has been assembling some good information along these lines for some time but it’s not the kind of thing we’re publishing publicly; at least not yet. Meanwhile, Forterra has recently published a white paper attempting to answer a few questions:

  • If virtual world based training can be as effective as other training venues like live, instructor led training?
  • How business users really feel about using a virtual world?
  • If a virtual world can save you money compared to travel based live training, or the audio and web conference system you are using today?

Download a PDF copy of “Recipe for Success with Enterprise Virtual Worlds” for answers to these questions and more. The case studies, conclusions and quotes in this paper are based on pilots conducted by Accenture and ACS in Forterra’s OLIVE virtual world product last fall.

Enjoy!
